Langley, BC – November 24, 2023 – The Vancouver Bandits announced Thursday that Vancouver-based university, University Canada West, has renewed its dedication to supporting Canadian professional basketball by extending its community and marketing partnership with the Bandits for the 2024 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season.
University Canada West (UCW) has aligned with Bandits Basketball since 2022 when its inaugural year of partnership was announced following the club’s relocation to Langley Events Centre.
The focus of University Canada West’s partnership with British Columbia’s professional basketball team is to contribute to the game day experience at Vancouver’s home venue of Langley Events Centre (LEC) and to support basketball communities throughout the Lower Mainland through the Court Projects initiative.
“University Canada West is delighted to continue our partnership with the Vancouver Bandits into the 2024 season, supporting community development through the team’s Court Projects initiative and adding to the vibrant and exciting game day atmosphere at the Langley Events Centre,” said UCW President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bashir Makhoul.
University Canada West is an innovative business and technology-oriented institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees at its two downtown Vancouver campuses. UCW offers a range of career-focused programs including, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, Associate of Arts and Master of Business Administration.
“The Vancouver Bandits are grateful to build on our partnership with University Canada West for the 2024 CEBL season. Demonstrating University Canada West’s commitment to developing local basketball is the organization’s support of Court Projects, which has spurred the improvement of over 25 outdoor basketball courts in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver regions,” said Bandits team president Dylan Kular.
