British Columbia’s Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills renewed University Canada West’s (UCW) consent to operate as a “university” for five years.
UCW also received a one year extension of the consent to continue offering the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program. The University has an action plan in place and is working closely with the ministry for a renewal of the consent.
Additionally, the Ministry authorized UCW to continue offering its Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication (BABC) programs for three years. The Associate of Arts (AA) program has been renewed for two years.
“On behalf of UCW, I want to thank Minister Lisa Beare and the Degree Quality Assessment Board for their consent and for working closely with our leadership team throughout this process,” remarked UCW President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bashir Makhoul. “I would also like to express my appreciation to the UCW team who worked on the consent renewals for their hard work and dedication.”
These reviews were completed as part of the normal course of business that requires UCW to renew its accreditation and consents with the Ministry every few years.
