University Canada West is thrilled to announce its inaugural UCW Pitch Night event, showcasing students’ entrepreneurial talent and giving them a platform to present their business ideas to investors, industry experts and thought leaders.

The event will take place at UCW’s Vancouver House Campus on Friday, November 1, and will feature seven business pitches from undergraduate students within the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications and Associate of Arts programs.

Teams of students will present their groundbreaking ideas for solving real-world challenges, ranging from food production and supply chain sustainability to mental health support, health care and small business.

“UCW Pitch Night will showcase innovation, disruption and entrepreneurial talent, providing a platform for our undergraduate students to present their business ideas to investors, industry experts and thought leaders,” said George Drazenovic, Department Chair – Arts, Communication and Social Sciences, Undergraduate Programs.

Students from diverse backgrounds—representing countries such as Nepal, Morocco, Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Ghana, Niger and more—will present their ideas ranging from artificial intelligence and machine learning to mental wellness, food technology and social impact.

“We are extremely proud of the innovative spirit and creativity displayed by our students,” said Dr. Steven Whiteside, Director of Business Development at UCW. “The diversity of thought, culture and approach makes UCW such a vibrant community, and this event will further cement our university’s reputation as a dynamic, forward-thinking institution.”
