University Canada West (UCW) has expanded its repertoire of micro-credentials with two new additions.
The University recently launched the Blockchain Entrepreneurship Certificate and Corporate Social Responsibility micro-credentials.
The Blockchain Entrepreneurship Certificate course is an online, three-level educational series focused on preparing graduates to master blockchain and cryptocurrencies for future employment, as well as how entrepreneurs can use these technologies.
At the end of the course, the attendees will have the knowledge, vocabulary and skills needed to manage blockchain and cryptocurrencies in professional situations and be able to understand and apply entrepreneurial concepts as they work with blockchain and cryptocurrency-focused projects.
The course includes three eight-week modules – Introduction to Blockchain Cryptocurrency, Advanced Blockchain and the Digital Economy, and Making it Work (Capstone – Blockchain Project). Each level is eight weeks (about 40 hours) with one hour of live instruction each week. Learners can take a single eight-week module, take two or complete all three.
After completing each level, students will receive a certificate of accomplishment. Students who complete all three levels will qualify to take the Foundational Technologies Institute exam, which is included in the price of the course. Students who achieve a passing grade of 70%, or higher, on the exam will receive a certificate and professional designation from FTI.
The Blockchain Entrepreneurship Certificate course is taught by George Levy, a best-selling instructor and speaker focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency. He is Division Head of Blockchain at BlocksEDU and Chief Learning Officer at the Blockchain Institute of Technology. He has taught more than 60,000 students in more than 80 countries.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) course provides learners with a foundation in the development and management of CSR strategies, as well as the frameworks used by the world’s largest tech, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail and mining companies.
The course aims to provide guidelines on how to improve an organization’s environmental footprint, employee engagement, transparency, waste management, human rights performance, community investment and responsible supply chain management.
Attendees will get the tools necessary to develop inspiring initiatives and successfully promote them.
Students who complete the CSR course will qualify to take the FTI exam to receive a certificate and professional designation from the institute.
Cameron Jones is the course developer and facilitator for the CSR program at UCW. He has a background in corporate social responsibility, innovation and organizational change.
Cameron is the co-author of a book and multiple papers on clean technology, capacity building and carbon mitigation.
In the fall of 2020, UCW partnered with the Digital Marketing Institute to bring the Certified Digital Marketing Professional micro-credential to the University.
This course gives recent graduates and working professionals the chance to upskill and become a Certified Digital Marketing Professional.
By earning this certification, learners will be able to conduct digital research, set business objectives for campaigns, and establish, develop and optimize digital strategies.
This certification is ideal for a wide range of professionals, including marketing managers, managers, IT managers and senior management. It is also ideal for small business owners and anyone involved in the planning, implementation or measurement of digital strategies, along with anyone looking to pursue a career in digital marketing.
