Spooky season is right around the corner and there are several Halloween activities in Vancouver perfect for those looking for some ghostly fun for the whole family or attractions that will scare the ghouls out of them.
Here are some Vancouver events bound to stir up lots of Halloween spirit this fall, including haunted houses, creepy mazes, costume parties and more.
1. Fright Nights
A classic and well-loved Vancouver attraction is Fright Nights at Playland. Every year in October, Playland is transformed into a terrifying Halloween-themed experience with creepy décor, roaming monsters, live performances, seven haunted houses and more than 15 rides.
This year, Fright Nights introduces a new opening “scaremony,” haunted house props and eerie food items.

2. HowlOver Canada
HowlOver Canada, hosted by FlyOver Canada, welcomes guests to join Biker Mama the witch on a spirited Halloween ride fun for the whole family. Guests will soar from coast to coast with a band of spooky sidekicks on their way to an out-of-this-world music festival.
HowlOver Canada is available from September 29 to October 31, and Halloween costumes are encouraged for all guests.

3. Vancouver Horror Nights
This immersive adventure invites guests looking for a real scream to the Vancouver Horror Nights Scream Park with over a dozen different attractions, including the House of Fear, Sacrifice Sensory Deprivation Maze and Boogeyman Bash.
The House of Fear and Sacrifice Sensory Deprivation Maze features jump, shock and other sudden scares not recommended for the faint of heart.
The deprivation maze is only for those looking for a real scare as guests will be blindfolded and chained to their friends during the experience. And the attraction ends with a death-defying drop where guests will be made to fall backwards.
The Boogeyman Bash, however, is family-friendly and complete with an inflatable maze, scavenger hunt, family photo opportunity, pumpkin carving, crafts and face painting.

4. Pumpkins After Dark
Pumpkins After Dark is an outdoor Halloween event featuring more than 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins in a one-of-a-kind walk-through experience.
The magical pathways are adorned with pumpkin sculptures, music, sounds and special effects, including displays featuring superheroes, dinosaurs, dragons and Disney characters.

5. Eerie Illusions
Burnaby Village Museum is transformed into a magical land bathed in spooky colours with the return of Eerie Illusions featuring new displays, costumed staff, live performances and other fun surprises hidden in the shadows.
This self-guided attraction is a family-friendly Halloween experience utilizing state-of-the-art lighting, projections, soundscapes and special effects.

6. Vancouver Horror Show
The Vancouver Horror Show 2022 is a film festival available in select theatres across Vancouver and online. The festival highlights three feature presentations and 36 short films with a blood-red carpet for the in-person premiere.
The film festival runs from November 5 to 8 and includes Halloween movies like Terrifier 2, Caregiver, Black Zombie Movie, Shadowban and Bufflehead.

7. Canyon Frights
Canyon Frights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a family-friendly event with festive pumpkins, spooky displays, Halloween-themed games and a scavenger hunt with prizes!
