A university instructor (both in-class and online), Dr. Cam Scholey has been a speaker, author and consultant for the past two decades, focusing mainly on the strategic concepts of balanced scorecard and strategy mapping. Specific areas of interest are accounting, finance and management controls. He is president of the boutique consultancy, Advanced Management Initiatives, Inc. (AMI).
Dr. Scholey is also an experienced writer and is the author of the book entitled A Practical Guide to the Balanced Scorecard (CCH Canadian). He is also the author of several articles, including “Strategy maps: a step-by-step guide to measuring, managing and communicating the plan” (Journal of Business Strategy, May/June 2005). He has written the management accounting guidelines called Using Strategy Maps to Drive Performance (2007) and Using Strategy Maps to Drive Performance in the Not-For-Profit Sector (2008). He has recently co-authored a new management accounting guideline called Performance Management for the Not-For-Profit Sector (2013).
Dr. Scholey holds a PhD from Rushmore University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition, he has a CPA and FCPA.
