Dr. Naïma Cherchem is a full-time faculty member at University Canada West.
She earned a Ph.D. in business administration at IAELyon School of Management - University of Jean Moulin (France), and pursued a Post-Doc position at HEC Montreal (Canada). She received an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management (Rennes Graduate School of Management, France), and a Master of Business in Marketing (University of Oran, Algeria).
For the past 10 years, Dr. Cherchem has accumulated academic and professional experience. She has taught in international business schools and in different programs. This includes certificate, BBA, Specialized Graduate Diploma, M.Sc. and MBA. She has supervised student projects in BBA and M.Sc. programs.
Dr. Cherchem has been involved in developing business program curriculum for International Business Schools in France and Canada.
She is a Research Fellow at the Strategy and Society Chair of Strategic Management - HEC Montreal.
Her research interests explore topics in strategic entrepreneurship in family and non-family firms, entrepreneurship in emerging countries, and internationalization of businesses in specific contexts.
She has published academic articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Family Business Strategy, and Small Business Economics Journal, in addition to several academic works.
Dr. Cherchem has also acted as a consultant to Business Families Foundation and Fondation d’Entrepreneurship.
