Dr. Salvador Trevino’s academic interests are centered on the notions of marketing and business strategy and their relationships with major business forces such as innovation, technology, globalization and the social impact of these factors in individual and collective behaviours. Educated in Mexico and the US, he holds a BSc Marketing from Tec de Monterrey, an MBA from SUNY Buffalo and PhD in Business Administration from The University of Memphis. Papers derived from his dissertation work have earned awards in Mexican and American academic venues. Relevant recognition includes: the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012 best professor award granted four times by graduating MBA cohorts at the Global MBA program; best on-line course delivery (2002); a teaching fellow award from the University of Memphis (1998); and a research fellow award (1999) as well as two best paper awards (2004, 2010).
Dr. Trevino has lectured in several Latin-American countries, France, the US and Canada. A visiting professor at Royal Roads University from August 2010 to July 2012, he delivered courses in the areas of marketing, strategy and entrepreneurship. During the same period, he actively participated in curriculum design activities and produced two academic publications. A former College of Business and also an EGADE Business School professor at Monterrey Tech, he currently lectures Marketing and Business Strategy courses in the MBA program at University Canada West. He currently resides in Vancouver, BC Canada, where he lives with his wife, Rosi, and their three children.
