Robert Basil teaches research, media and writing to both MBA and undergraduate business and communications students at University Canada West. Robert as previously taught Shakespeare, the American Novel, and Modern Poetry. He also developed two popular new courses: ‘American Road Writing’ and ‘Writing and the Bill of Rights’.
From 1997 to 2008, Basil was the President and Founder of Basil Communications Inc., providing marketing, writing, research, strategic planning, compliance, and multimedia services for public and private companies and individual clients across Canada and the United States. He has also worked for Prometheus Books Inc. and Free Inquiry Magazine.
Robert has also conceived, edited and contributed to two publications: Not Necessarily the New Age: Critical Essays and On The Baricades. The former was termed a ‘breakthrough book’ by The Nation Magazine.
As well as this, Robert has co-organized and made presentations at numerous conferences for the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, the International Humanist and Ethical Union (Holland), and the Council for Democratic and Secular Humanism. Robert received his BA in English from State University of New York at Buffalo, and his MA in English from Stanford University.
