Tom Chan has been a college professor for the last seven years. Prior to teaching, he held senior corporate Human Resource Management (HRM) positions with several international financial institutions for more than 20 years. As a HRM professional, he has experience in a wide spectrum of HR functional areas, and held a number of in-country HR leadership and Asia Pacific regional coordination roles. His accomplishments include designing and implementing standardized job grading and performance management system across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
His roles required him to work in collaboration with HR colleagues across four continents. He recruited senior management positions and facilitated expatriation and cross-border transfers globally. He had successfully managed challenging industrial relations issues and coordinated cross-border change management initiatives.
Tom received a Bachelor Degree from the University of Ottawa and a Master Degree from the University of South Australia. As well, he is a Chartered Professional in Human Resource Management (CPHR) and board member of a charity in Surrey, BC.
