Carel Schoch is the Head Instructor of UCW’s University Access Program, which supports students in building their academic English skills before entering their degree program. He has both a Diploma and Master’s in Education in the teaching of English as a Second Language. Carel has 22 years of experience in the field, and is very passionate about helping people to build their communication skills.

Tamara Papo has a degree in psychology from UBC and a Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Counselling from Yorkville University. She has been working in private and public post-secondary institutions since 2008 as a Career Counsellor. In her free time, she volunteers at many different non-profit organizations such as Mosaic, Crisis Centre and the Immigrant Services Society of BC. Tamara writes about career topics, employment and job search techniques.

Dr. James Bowen is a professor at University Canada West. He is associated with 10 universities, including three in Europe, where he teaches in their MBA programs in more than 12 subject areas including: technology, leadership, marketing, supply chain management, project management, entrepreneurship and strategy. Dr. Bowen also has over 20 years of management experience in a wide variety of areas of an organization and has also written two books discussing the creation and growth of high-tech product companies. His third book, The Entrepreneurial Effect, draws upon his wide network of entrepreneurs in a collaborative approach, with a focus on lessons learned from entrepreneurs and investors. Dr. Bowen is also the originator of the Entrepreneurial Effect Award for entrepreneurs.

Dr. Bruce Hiebert holds a Ph.D. in historical ethics from Simon Fraser University, one of the leading Canadian public universities and where he won the President’s research award. He is an award-winning instructor in business, philosophy and religion. Dr. Hiebert has published two books on the topic of workplace ethics and is currently extending that research into the ethics of organizational leadership with an edited collection on the neuroscience of leadership currently in press.
