Finding the right place to study is key for maintaining focus and productivity. Whether you prefer a quiet library, a cozy café or a relaxing outdoor spot, choosing an environment that suits your study habits can significantly enhance your learning experience.
University Canada West’s state-of-the-art Vancouver House Campus is designed to provide students with the resources and support they need to excel. Group study rooms are available for collaborative work, allowing students to engage in productive discussions and group projects.
The UCW Library, located on the fifth floor of the Sheldon Levy East Building, provides a quiet and resource-rich space for individual study, with extensive collections and access to digital resources. There is a bonus upper floor that’s a little more private for more focused studying.
The fourth floor is also a good spot, lacking the hustle and bustle of the student lounge one floor below, and also featuring meeting pods and a study pod.
Over at the West Building, the Next Gen Hub Learning Commons is an often quiet study spot and includes a meeting pod. The terrace outside is also a great spot for studying on sunny days. The West Building’s fourth floor is another good spot, with multiple study and meeting pods, plus a computer lab.
Outside of campus, there’s plenty of coffee shops to hang out at nearby. For a more scenic outdoors study session, there’s Sunset Beach, just a 10-minute walk west of campus, and David Lam Park, a 16-acre waterfront park located just six minutes east of campus.
Over at West Pender Campus, the best study spot is the spacious library in the basement, which is not only perfect for studying, but also offers a wealth of resources. While the campus also has a pair of student lounges, the 11th floor lobby can be a quiet spot.
Harbour Green Park, located near Coal Harbour, offers stunning views of the waterfront, plenty of seating and a serene environment for studying outdoors.
Outside of campuses, Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch (350 West Georgia St.) offers multiple floors of study spaces, quiet reading rooms and a rooftop garden, plus a mass of great resources. The library also has the Joe Fortes Branch in the West End Community Centre (870 Denman St.), which is a good study spot to hit before enjoying nearby Stanley Park.
With a wealth of on-campus and nearby study spots, University Canada West students have a variety of environments to choose from, ensuring they can find the perfect place to focus, collaborate and excel in their studies.
