My everyday routine as an MBA student is filled with lectures, homework and projects. But I am appreciative of UCW for keeping us up-to-date with current events for students that enrich our University experience.
On August 31st, UCW provided us with a unique opportunity in partnership with the Ocean Wise organization. Building communities that actively participate in safeguarding and repairing our priceless seas is the noble goal of the international conservation organization Ocean Wise. The event they planned for us was a clear example of their understanding that a small group of people can make a big difference.
The Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup is a wonderful initiative that encourages individuals to make a genuine impact in their area. We are directly helping the preservation of our seas and the conservation of marine life by eliminating rubbish and debris from these shorelines. Participating in this occasion was a privilege. Being part of the effort to conserve natural environment while strolling along the beach brought me self-fulfillment. During this event, I became aware of the huge influence that seemingly insignificant activities, such as picking up waste and debris, may have on our world. Every bit of trash retrieved from the beach was a step towards a cleaner, healthier ocean.
Through encouraging a sense of duty towards our surroundings and localities, they inspire us to become responsible citizens beyond the school campuses. This encounter provided me with a chance to make a significant impact while reinforcing my belief in the potency of collaboration for fostering harmony and sustainability within society. I consider it a privilege to be involved in a University that promotes dedication in the long run and equips its students with necessary resources for making an impact. The partnership between UCW and Ocean Wise went beyond being just another student event; it imparted the importance of cooperation and served as a reminder that each one of us possesses the capacity to bring about change, ultimately leaving behind a better world for future generations.
