Vancouver, BC – Sept. 17, 2020 – University Canada West (UCW) and the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) are excited to announce an innovative new partnership that will integrate DMI’s industry-leading digital marketing certifications into UCW’s MBA program.
Starting with the Fall 2020 Term in October, UCW MBA students on successful completion of the marketing course will receive an associate level certification from DMI. In the spring semester students will have the option to take a set of three digital marketing electives, which will set them up to take DMI’s Pearson VUE test to get certified as a Digital Marketing Professional in addition to their MBA degree from UCW.
Additionally, thanks to a partnership between DMI and the American Marketing Association (AMA) announced earlier this year, those students doing the professional level elective will also automatically get AMA Professional Certified Marketer certification.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with DMI to make their digital marketing expertise available to our future business leaders,” said UCW President Brock Dykeman. “UCW is the first university in Canada to develop this kind of partnership offering an opportunity for an additional credential to our MBA students.”
As the global certification body for the industry, DMI offers the most widely taught set of certification standards in digital marketing for learners, educators and industry. With more than 80,000 members across the globe the institute has trained more professionals to a single education standard than any other body in digital marketing education and training.
This partnership brings DMI’s world-leading certification to UCW’s MBA program.
The partnership will also bring one of DMI’s programs to UCW’s online course offerings. Starting in September, DMI’s Certified Digital Marketing Professional program will be added to UCW’s new line up of short courses. The short courses program is focused on technology that can help professionals gain valuable and specific skills in a short amount of time, whether they’re exploring a new career path or want particular skills to set them apart in the job market.
“At UCW, we believe in a future where technology and business are seamlessly integrated,” Dykeman said. “DMI’s course gives professionals the latest and most up-to-date digital marketing skills needed to thrive in today’s ever-evolving digital economy.”
Head of University partnerships at the Digital Marketing Institute John Doran stated, “We view our partnership with UCW as a key strategic partnership in Canada, we knew UCW was the right partner for us when we spoke to their expert faculty, heard about their best-in-class program delivery and their new digital innovation center. We are delighted to set out on this journey in partnership with UCW and look forward to many years of collaboration and success.”
