Vancouver, BC – Dec. 10, 2020 – University Canada West (UCW) is delighted to announce that two of its programs have earned NCMA accreditation.
UCW’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) programs recently received NCMA National Accreditation from CIM | Chartered Managers Canada.
“These accreditations speak to UCW’s position as a leader in the field of business and management education,” said Dr. Matthew Jelavic, C.Mgr., CEO of CIM | Chartered Managers Canada.
Receiving Nationally Accredited with Chartered Managers Canada (NCMA) status directly benefits UCW’s MBA and BCom students.
Students currently enrolled in the MBA and BCom programs are now entitled to a free Associate Membership with the association, giving UCW students the chance to belong to Canada’s chartered management and leadership association while earning their degree.
Associate Members can participate in all the networking and professional development opportunities the association offers, helping them get ready for their new career after they graduate.
“This partnership gives our students the chance to hone important communication, networking, presentation and strategic thinking skills and put them into practice through becoming a Student Associate Member, paving the way for future career success,” said Dr. Cyndi Banks, UCW Vice President Academic. “I wish to thank Dr. Michele Vincenti, Chair of the Leadership Department, for his role in helping to connect us with CIM to add this exciting opportunity for our students.”
Founded in 1942, CIM | Chartered Managers Canada is the leading professional association supporting Canada’s Chartered Managers through certification, accreditation and professional development. It offers two internationally recognized professional designations – Certified in Management (CIM) and Chartered Manager (C.Mgr).
This new accreditation also means that UCW students who graduate with an MBA or BCom degree will be able to receive their CIM designation by successfully passing the online Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE). Students who register as an Associate Member will be able to complete the MAE right after graduation.
