November 19, 2019 – University Canada West (UCW) will be launching a new campus at Vancouver House, the unique twisting tower rising from the foot of the Granville Street Bridge.

UCW is a business-oriented, teaching-intensive university that offers a range of career-focused undergraduate and graduate programs. UCW’s Vancouver House campus will offer new leading innovative educational programs for tomorrow’s leaders to broaden their knowledge and skill set in a competitive and evolving digital business environment.

“This is an extremely important announcement for the evolution of University Canada West, as we continue to deliver quality education while shaping the future of a new community in the heart of Vancouver’s downtown,” says Brock Dykeman, UCW President.

Located between the West End and Yaletown, Vancouver House – a globally recognized project designed by Bjarke Ingels, founder of leading architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) – forms the catalyst for the complete reimagining of the surrounding area and the creation of a new neighbourhood called the Beach District. The new UCW campus will be one of the anchors of the project, supporting the area’s transformation into a community hub and gathering place. When complete the Beach District will include new retail and restaurants, curated shipping container pop-ups and Rodney Graham’s Spinning Chandelier a monumental public art installation suspended beneath the Granville Street Bridge. The campus will be just steps away from Sunset Beach, English Bay and Vancouver’s 28-kilometer Seawall – the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path.

UCW will begin delivering programs at the Vancouver House campus by mid-2020. The university will be the largest tenant of this high-profile development, hosting over 3,400 new students in two state-of-the-art buildings with a total of 90,000 square ft. of space.

“Our new campus, in the centre of one of the world’s most livable cities, will give students the skills they need with leading MBA and tech-based programs. This is what tomorrow’s leaders are looking for,” says Cyndi McLeod, CEO of Global University Systems Canada.

UCW will also continue to operate its West Pender Campus, as University Canada West continues to expand.

The first term for students in the new facility is expected to begin in July 2020. An architectural model of the campus is currently on display in the UCW lobby at 626 West Pender.
