Dr. Michele Vincenti has been named the incoming Graduate Program Chair at University Canada West (UCW), BC’s fastest growing university.
He teaches courses in corporate finance, strategy and management consulting in the Bachelor of Commerce and MBA programs.

He is looking forward to his new role as program chair.
“I am very happy to be able to help UCW and our students in my new capacity,” he said. “I have to fill the big shoes left me by Dr. Ireland and I will try my best to fill them to the best of my abilities.”
Dr. Shawn Ireland is the outgoing Graduate Program chair and will work with Dr. Vincenti until the end of the year.
Dr. Charles Carroll has been named the Undergraduate Program Chair. He is in his second year at UCW, where he teaches philosophy, history, writing and literature. He will assume the role immediately.
Dr. Carroll has a B.A. in philosophy from Vassar College, an MFA in poetry from Emerson College, an MBA in marketing from Boston University and a Ph.D. in English/Comparative Literature from the CUNY Graduate Centre.
“What I like most about UCW is that we are still small enough to feel like a large family,” he said.
Dr. Carroll is also looking forward to his new role.
“The undergraduate years are ones where many of our views about the world are formed,” he said. “My hope is that in my role as undergraduate chair I can contribute in some small way, through the education of our students, to the role of business in society.”
Program Chairs at University Canada West assume a variety of duties including the hiring of new faculty, program reviews, adjudicating student appeals and approving course grades.
UCW would like to congratulate Dr. Carroll and Dr. Vincenti on their appointments, and would also thank Dr. Ireland for contributions to the university.
University Canada West is located in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia.
