University Canada West (UCW) is pleased to announce that George Drazenovic has been appointed Chair of the Arts, Communications and Social Sciences Undergraduate Programs, which includes the Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, the Bachelor of Commerce and the Associate of Arts degrees.
George holds a Master of Business Administration degree specializing in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPA, CGA) and the Vancouver Society of Chartered Financial Analysts. He has also been a featured lecturer for the Chartered Financial Analyst program, a globally recognized standard for measuring investment knowledge, specializing in fixed income securities, derivatives and corporate finance.
George brings a wealth of leadership experience from the private sector, and a track record of incubating start-up ventures in many sectors, including alternative energy, biotechnology and natural resources. He has led publicly traded companies at the executive and board level and has raised and structured tens of millions of dollars in financing. He brings business development, planning and securities regulatory expertise.
George is also a strong advocate for students and takes an active learner-centered approach to his teaching, enabling his students to introduce their diverse experiences and backgrounds into the classroom learning environment. He teaches managerial accounting and investment analysis at UCW and has been the course lead for Accounting 621.
