University Canada West’s Board of Governors is pleased to announce that Sheldon Levy is continuing in his role as UCW’s President and Vice-Chancellor.
President Levy’s term was scheduled to end on November 30, 2022; however, he will remain in the role into 2023 as the search for a new President continues, leading the UCW community with his wealth of experience and knowledge as he has since joining the University in October 2021.
President Levy has previously served in senior leadership positions at some of Canada’s most respected post-secondary institutions, including President of Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), President of Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology; Vice-President, Finance and Strategy, at University of Ontario Institute of Technology; Vice-President, Government and Institutional Relations, at the University of Toronto; and Vice-President, Institutional Affairs, at York University.
He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2020 for his exceptional leadership as an education administrator and for promoting student entrepreneur incubators on university campuses across the country. He also served as Ontario’s Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development.
