While everyone continues to work and study from home, University Canada West’s library is working hard to create new ways for students to reach out and get help directly from a librarian.
The library this week introduced Virtual Drop-In Office Hours for students who have a quick question for one of UCW’s librarians.
The drop-in hours are offered twice a week and are available to any UCW student who has a question the library can help with – like questions on APA citation, research and accessing the library resources.
“Anything library-related, we’re here to help,” said Jennifer Pride, UCW’s Undergraduate Liaison Librarian.
For the Summer 2020 Term, the Virtual Drop-In Office Hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm PDT and Fridays from 9 to 11 am PDT. The hours may be adjusted for the Fall Term.
Students can access the Virtual Drop-In by clicking on the Library tab in the MyUCW Student Portal. The link to the Microsoft Teams session will be available during the allotted times. The service is operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can click on the link to be allowed into the Teams lobby until a librarian becomes available.
