University Canada West’s website is back online after site host and provider, Finalsite, experienced a disruption of certain computer systems on its network last week.
The outage impacted thousands of schools worldwide, including UCW. Finalsite attributed the outage to a ransomware attack. The company confirmed that there is no evidence that any school data has been viewed, compromised or extracted as a result of this incident. UCW has been informed that Finalsite is completing a thorough investigations with a third-party forensic specialist.
