University Pathway Program

UCW’s University Pathway Program (UPP) prepares international students who have successfully completed secondary school year 11 or its equivalent for entry into any one of the University’s undergraduate degree programs. The program is offered at three different levels, and you will be placed in a level based on your English proficiency. Programs range from six (6) to twelve (12) months.

Benefits of studying University Pathway Program

  • Faster time to completion than most pre-university programs (Advanced and Accelerated Tracks).
  • A pathway to university that otherwise might not be available (Standard Track; students typically would have to gain proficiency in English elsewhere before starting a program of this nature).
  • Small classes.  Our largest classroom accommodates 22 students; most classes are 15-17 in size.
  • Engaged and talented faculty and staff who are committed to student learning and success.
  • Seamless entry into any of UCW’s undergraduate degree programs.
  • Courses are designed for university preparation and to develop skills and confidence to succeed.
  • Live in a Homestay environment to enhance English skills.
  • Study and live in Vancouver, British Columbia, one of the world’s most liveable cities.

Program Design

  • Three intakes per year:  Fall (October), Winter (January) or Spring (April).
  • You will reside with a Homestay family during duration of study.
  • No course exemptions will be provided; courses cannot be used for university credit.

What is the progression to undergraduate studies?

Successful completion of the University Pathway Program will provide you with direct entry into any one of UCW’s undergraduate programs.  Successful completion means:

  • Pass all classes.
  • Achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0.

Successful students will be provided a Certificate of Completion.
