With preparations underway for a full return to campus for the Fall (October) 2021 Term, University Canada West (UCW) is taking precautionary measures to ensure the health, safety and well-being of its students, faculty and staff.
Starting this fall, all faculty and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to campus.
In line with British Columbia’s proof of vaccination requirements, all staff and faculty who will be working on-campus must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by Sept. 13 and must be fully vaccinated by Oct. 24.
“This decision was not made lightly,” said UCW President Brock Dykeman. “These measures are intended to safeguard the health and well-being of all the employees, students and visitors who spend time on our campuses.”
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff have been our top priority,” said President Dykeman. “While the current policy does not include mandatory vaccinations for students, we are currently exploring our options.”
